Filmmaker Steve Egboro gets honorary doctorate degree

US-based Nigerian filmmaker, Steve Egboro, has received an honorary doctorate degree from Trinity International University of Ambassadors, Atlanta.

The conferment ceremony held recently also featured blogger Linda Ikeji and other honourees.

Speaking on the criteria for the selection, the Chancellor, Trinity International University of Ambassadors, Dr. Jacqueline Mohair said, “The Doctor of Humane Letters are offered to persons who have made numerous contributions to society through philanthropic or civic work.”

University, Egboro said, “This is really humbling for me considering where I am coming from. I consider this honour a recognition not only for me but for every Nigerian filmmaker and entertainer out there.”

It would be recalled that recently Egboro was honoured with a Certificate of Honors by organisers of the Nollywood Travel Film Festival in North America.

The showbiz mogul, who through his Antilia Heights Production, has been pushing African talents in North America. Egboro has been responsible for the success of concerts headlined by popular Nigerian entertainers like Davido and Bovi.

Past honourees include renowned leaders and business owners such as Dr. Rita Samuels (Dr. Martin Luther King Secretary), Dr. Sonnie Badu of Sonnie Badu Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman of Omega fire Ministries and Dr. Debra Winans.
